The crew on 2012 blueberry patch restoration

Aside from an obvious love, and kindred  dorkiness, Kelly and Noah were drawn together by their love for being outside and growing food.

Kelly was raised on an asparagus, strawberry, and raspberry You-Pick family farm in Northern Wisconsin. She is a certified permaculture designer, proud mother of three beautiful children, and is currently studying Rudolf Steiner's philosophies on education to become a Waldorf teacher.

Noah has been involved in sustainable agriculture, biodynamics, and wilderness exploration since the mid 90's. Having worked with mainly small scale local farmers in such places as Ecuador, Japan, Thailand, New Zealand, Hawaii, and hear in the US he has always enjoyed the intrinsic hand labor of getting to know and love the land he works. He is also a certified arborist and owner of Trees To Soil LLC. www.treestosoil.org.  An all inclusive professional tree care service that emphasizes on-site manual processing of organic material.

The Marquis family are recent transports to the Portland area via Coastal Ecuador where they were working as consultants on a permaculture installation in the middle of a jungle reserve. You can check it out at www.3malliance.org
